Features of DC Motors for Steel Mill
1) The motors have more excellent thermo characteristics due to the H class insulation used. Because the thermo and commutating characteristics are improved, the reliability and overload capacity of the motor are improved significantly and the requirements for class B motors are met. At present, only the motors of our company can comply with those requirements.
2) The reactive voltage is reduced due to the improved thermo characteristics and the higher permitted thermo load. Many measures are treated for commutating and have significantly improve the commutating capacity. The commutating sparkles are less than the Z series motors.
3) The overload capacity and the external accidence independence are improved due to the improved thermo and commutating characteristics. The reliability and service life are also improved significantly.
4) The motors are designed optimum electromagnetic parameters and the moment of the motor is reduced largely. Therefore, the control of the motor is more flexible.
5) The base is made of laminated cool milled silicon steel slices, while that of the Z series motors is made of only the laminated steel sheets. These motors are more suitable for the sharp change of rectified power source and current.
6) The commutator adopts stepping rows of silver and copper, and runs with spark-free condition. This prolongs the longevity of commutator service life and brings enormous benefits for steelworks.
7) The motor adopts the whole style hoisting slice and the special ventilation system. The slice and ventilation prevent the carbon ash from entering between the winding ends and the hoisting slices. The problem that the ash can not be cleaned and made the insulation resistance reduced is solved.
8) The wires are film sintered and prevent the phenomenon that short circuit damages the motors.
9) The stator pole coils are treated with VIP technique and are made integrative to improve the insulation between coils and the thermo characteristics. The withstanding voltage is considered as 500V to prevent the phenomenon that the short circuit occurs between coils as Z series motors with class F insulation.
10) The armature windings have proper structures and the TIG welding treatment is used for the weld between hoisting slices and winding, reducing the possibility of the non-uniformity and heat de-soldering.
11) The armature is treated with VPI and the motors have excellent insulation and pollution –resistant performance.
12) The motors are manufactured with time effect vibration technique to eliminate the inner stress generated in welding for the stability of motors.
13) The effective cooling package which fully monitored is used.
14) Pt100 components are used, having the features of reliable and easy to replace.
15) Tachometers can be accurately installed on the motors on request.
